Plus the US Army soldier who prosecutors, say, discussed bombing a news network and shared bomb building instructions. Online reporting begins now our reporting begins with President Trump defending a phone call. He had with the Ukrainian president about his political rival, Joe Biden. The president has been meeting with world leaders in town for the United Nations General Assembly in New York, as he faces fallout now, back in Washington, he’s set to meet with New Zealand’s prime minister of moments from now.
This all comes after reports that President Trump pressured a foreign leader to dig up dirt on the family of one of his twenty20 political opponents, specifically for the newly elected president of Ukraine to investigate the business dealings of hunter Biden. Joe Biden’s son. The Wall Street Journal reports, the president eight times pressured the foreign leader to investigate the journals parent company and the Fox News. Parent company share common ownership. That phone call happened in July the day after Robert Muller appeared before Congress. That call and other unspecified events were apparently so alarming. A whistleblower filed a complaint. The Inspector General reviewed the substance of the complaint and deemed it credible and of urgent concern, but the Trump administration is blocking Congress from seeing that complaint president Trump admits he did talk about Biden during the phone call but insists his conversation with the Ukrainian leader was On the up and up, we had a perfect phone call with the President of Youth. Everybody knows it. It’s just a Democrat witch hunt. Here we go again, they failed with Russia, they failed with recessions. They failed with everything and now they’re bringing this up. The one who’s got. The problem is Biden as you look at what Biden did Biden did what they would like to have me do, except for one problem, I didn’t do it. There is no known evidence that Biden did anything wrong. The whole thing involved: corruption in Ukraine, a corrupt prosecutor who much of the world was pressuring Ukraine to remove. Earlier this year, a rainy and official said there was no evidence of any wrongdoing by Joe Biden or his son hunter.
The real issue here is the phone call the claim that the president pressured a foreign leader to investigate a political rival and the failure to pass the whistle whistle blower complained to Congress. Now among Democrats pressure to impeach this president is building the top Democrat in Congress. The House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, warning the White House that refusal to hand over the whistleblower complaint could be a grave new chapter of lawlessness by the White House and wrote that it could lead to a whole new stage of investigation. We have team Fox coverage now catherine herridge live in Washington. First John Roberts, here in New York, traveling with the president and more on his comments today, hi John chef good afternoon, good, to see you what the president was on his way to Houston yesterday morning before coming here to New York. He let it slip that he had talked with a zalenski, who is the president of Ukraine, about Joe Biden and about Joe Biden’s son, that prompted Democrats to start screaming from the rooftops that the president should be impeached for, but a short time ago. Speaking with the Polish President, Andrzej Duda, the president, said there was no quid pro quo in that phone conversation. Listen here. Did you tell the training leaders they have what he did, what he did of a certain prosecutor. Joe Biden said now what the president was talking about there as a prosecutor. He was the former general prosecutor of Ukraine named Victor shokan. He was investigating verismo Holdings. A company in natural gas company on the board of witch-hunter Biden was a member. Now the president. Further on in that response, chef suggested that we may get to see at least part of that phone call. There’s some thought around the White House that they may release a transcript or a partial transcript of it. Listen to what the president said about that. I may do it because it was a very innocent call. Well, both his part of my way very nice call. It was really a congratulatory call because he had just won.
It was just confirmed and he’s the new president, and I think, he’s going to do an excellent job, but remember he got elected on the basis of the biggest part was corruption in his campaign, and so he wants the same thing that he’s looking for the same Thing as I am, he did, a very good job was a very nice call. I hope you get to see it and I hope you get to see it soon. That’s the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr zalenski, that the president is referring to there, so they may release a transcript of the call through debating that at the White House. A couple of reasons to not do it three really, the president did it says if he released the transcript of this call, then people are going to start screaming for all of the other calls that the president’s made and the Republicans will start screaming for all of The calls that President Obama made that’s the slippery slope, part of it as well, and then there’s this idea of how much of the transcript can you release, because if you redact one word from it, then the whole thing becomes invalid and in the bigger picture, though, This this whistleblower complaint, we’re led to believe, is about more than this phone call. It’s a series of events that we don’t know the details of, obviously, but in its totality the Democrats want that to go to the Congress exactly and the bottom line of all of this Shep is the only thing that we know about this whistleblowers complaint is that It somehow deals with Ukraine, we don’t know if it’s specifically related to this call was Alinsky or maybe it’s a call that he had with Vladimir Putin in which they discussed Ukraine, or maybe he was talking with Theresa May about Ukraine. We don’t know, but clearly somebody is very concerned about it, but the president and his attorney Rudy Giuliani, are doubling down on this idea that they’ve trying to flip the script here and say this isn’t about us. This is about Joe Biden and his son hunter Biden. Listen to what the president said in that bilateral meeting with Duda also say how much money to send back from the Ukraine how much money from China based on energy.
He does nothing about energy, so why did he leave China? Why did he leave Ukraine with all this money? You know that the president is pointed to a couple of things. There was an investigation of the company on the board of witch-hunter Biden, said 1.2 billion dollars in US. Loan guarantees was withheld until that prosecutor was removed. Other countries were calling for that prosecutor to be removed as well, but then there’s the connection with Biden, and then there was a 2013 trip that Joe Biden made with hunter to China, in which hunter Biden came back with 1.5 billion dollars in funding for a private Equity company Rosemont Seneca that he was a part of as well as Chris Hines, who is John Kerry’s son-in-law. So the president is really trying to throw a lot of dots out there for people to connect. But until we know what was in the transcript of that phone call and what was in the complaint, we’re really just kind of guessing here – that’s true John Roberts. Welcome to New York good to see you concede two more now on the showdown over the whistleblower and the White House, blocking the credible and urgent details from going to Congress. Catherine Herridge reporting on that she’s live in Washington, hi Catherine, well. Shep a person familiar with the situation tells Fox News that the whistleblower did not have quote first-hand knowledge of the conversation between the president and the Ukrainian president, adding that those facts are laid out in the original complaint. This morning, the Senate Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer sending a letter calling on the Senate leader Mitch McConnell to take action and press the White House to release the transcript. That letter reads in part. This is a whistleblower complaint that has been labeled, quote urgent and quote credible. Not by Democrats but a senior-level trump appointee, it is the Senate’s duty to take this national security matter seriously and to take action. Now Democratic leaders, who’ve been wary of impeachment now say President Trump may have given them no options If the allegations are true in a letter to colleagues, the House Speaker wrote if the administration persists in blocking this whistleblower from disclosing to Congress, a serious possible breach of constitutional duties by the president they’ll be entering a grave new chapter of longest lawlessness, which will take The u.
